This Grade II Georgian Cottage is the second of four built onto the unique and well-preserved C13th Baileygate to an C11th castle. The ruined castle itself, on high ground overlooking the valley of the river Nar, is an English Heritage site, as is the ruined Norman Cluniac Priory, the equal to many of Britain's most celebrated religious heritage sites.
Dating from around 1800 this compact and characterful cottage retains the feel of times gone by yet offers all the conveniences of a modern home. The decor and furnishings - antique prints and artifacts abound - reinforce this cosy, comfortable feel and, for the romantics, we shouldn't forget the wood burning stove for that warm glow on an early spring or late autumn evening. The garden, which has been recently renovated, features a Gothic summerhouse and patio of old Norfolk pamments and shingle is a suntrap and not overlooked. There is ample off road parking.
